I wanted to post a quick update and maybe close this issue. It turns out I have been able to reproduce this problem outside Dexpot. So this is related to the interaction between Cygwin and Windows 7.

I use a combination of Dexpot and the Cygwin XWindows server under Windows 7. I have my Windows 7 taskbar seto to autohide. I have several xterms open in different desktops and when I switch between them the taskbar gets raised. It doesn't hde again until I go through each of the xterms. When I pay attention to the last one the taskbar hides again.

Any idea how to fix this issue? I don't want the xterms to raise the taskbar each time I switch desktops.
