Desktop Start-Up commands not executed when running as Administrator

Postby narny » 26.09.2016 13:34:55

I have configured Desktop Start-Up commands to run when switching desktops, but they don't get called if I run Dexpot as Administrator. I need to run as Administrator because otherwise Dexpot doesn't move other applications between desktops if they themselves are running with elevated permissions (FAQ). The commands run fine if Dexpot is launched without Administrator privilege. Is there anything I can do to persuade these Start-Up commands to execute?

Dexpot 1.6.14 Pro, Build 2439
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, Service Pack 1

Let me know if you need more details to reproduce this issue. Thanks.

Various Perl scripts. But I've found that it fails to work no matter what the command.

For example:

In Configure Desktops, Startup tab for a desktop, add a command
Command: notepad
Event: Every entry
Close: Never

If, in Settings, "Run as administrator" is ticked, then Notepad does not launch (or my Perl script doesn't run, etc.).
If no tick in "Run as administrator" (restart Dexpot after changing setting) then Notepad launches OK.

I need Dexport to run as administrator, or else it doesn't control some (elevated privilege) apps that I use all the time.
