dual-monitors applications not refreshing

After adding a new monitor to my windows 7 laptop configuration, I'm having issues were some applications don't refresh correctly on the screen.
Also, if I move a application around sometimes part of it will stay on the screen, even when I move it way from previous location.
Applications I've seen issues with chrome, firefox, and outlook.
I have updated BIOS and graphics card drivers and still seen the issue. Just wondering if dexpot could have any affect to the redrawing of apps on the screen. This is the first time I have used dexpot in a two screen configuration.
