First off, I'd just like to say that Dexpot is my favourite application,
and that this is my favourite company for making it

This bug has been present for as long as I've used Dexpot.
In the "Background" tab of "Configure Desktops"
you can either click the picture or the "Browse" button
to open a file/folder select dialogue titled "Open"
If you hit the Open dialogue's "Cancel" button,
it just closes the dialogue
and returns you to the Configure Desktops window.
But if you're in the Open dialogue and hit "ESC"
then it closes the dialogue
and
also closes the "Configure Desktops" window.
I use a lot of desktops
and use a lot of wallpapers.
And sometimes, I'll be changing each desktop screen for my dual-monitor setup.
One time I had selected 17 wallpapers, and decided to leave the 18th alone.
I was in the Open dialogue and hit ESC instead of Cancel.
It closed the Open window as well as the Configure Desktops window.
And lost all of my changes.
It was only 10 minutes of my life, but this is really the only problem I've ever had with Dexpot, and I'd like for my favourite application to be perfect

I've gotten so much more careful about hitting Apply since then,
but I still get forgetful occasionally and hit ESC out of habit.
