(Using Windows 7.)
If you're referring to the
Windows "Connect to a Projector" feature:
I always use WIN_KEY+P to pull it up (default Windows 7 hotkey)
and use "Connect to a Projector" >> "Extend"
Windows Projector >> "Extend"
does work with Dexpot Monitor Exclusion.
I have never used Windows with its projector "Duplicate" setting.
in Dexpot:
Settings >> Switching Desktops >> Monitors,
untick the screen you want to not be affected.
This feature does *not* affect your Desktop Icons (even if you do have toggled on:
Settings >> Switching Desktops >> Desktop elements
>> Desktop icons >> Customize desktop icons [on] )
This feature *does* affect which windows display (or hide)
upon a Dexpot screen switch Example:
I have two monitors.
I have the left one excluded.
I have the right one affected by Dexpot switching.
I keep my music app on the left one.
I keep different workspaces on the right one.
When I switch Dexpot Desktop Screens:
My left monitor stays the same,
the music app stays right where I put it,
& the right monitor changes.
If I am on desktop 1,
& move a window from my right monitor
to my left monitor
when I switch to desktop 2
that window will still be on my left monitor.
but my right monitor's windows will change.
Hope this clarifies.
Haven't tried Windows 10 + Dexpot, so no clue there.
To all:
Have a fantastic day!
