I've been a reasonably long-time user of dexpot and not had any problems until recently. I'm running Windows 10, build 1511 which I've been on for 6+ months. I leave my PC on 24/7 and in the last week or so, when I start using it in the morning, both a calculator window and the settings window are present. If I kill them, they reappear some random time later. If I don't kill them, but minimise them, they never reappear (unless I de-iconify them), but killing them will get them to start again some random time later.
Downloading SysInternals process explorer shows these to be suspended processes started by svchost.exe, and it appears svchost.exe starts them up again if they are not running. I know something has changed, but can't pin it down to a recent windows update. I *think* what is happening is that svchost.exe starts Calc/Settings as suspended, but that dexpot shows the windows on the taskbar/on the desktop. I now have 2 extra task bar icons on every screen.
Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas?
