I'm bumping this thread as a silent reminder that I'm really hoping for a faster dexgrid animation.
I'm no developer, but I suspect that this change is pretty easy to do... I hope so.

Oh, and also the speed of the animation itself should be a tad faster, imho.
...ideally the animation speed should be based on the timeout value.
The shorter the value the quicker the animation must be in order to finish animating in time.

Right now the black grid animation is blocking the view of the desktop underneath it.
I often want to rapidly flick back and forth between two desktops with two simillar notepads, to do a visual diff of the text in each notepad.
Then it would be great if the black grid animation was like 90% transparant.

I use Dexpot + DexGrid to have a 4x3 matrix of desktops.

I do like the DexGrid animation, but the black bars are too big and too black, or rather, they are not transparent enough.
Therefore, I'm asking for these new options in the DexGrid plugin:

* animation timeout in milliseconds -- I want it to disappear a little bit faster
* animation transparancy level - 0%-100% -- I barely want to see the big black grid

Extra options that would also be nice, but not really neccessary if the above is fixed:
