Things saving on the right desktop but not retrievable

I am working on Desktop 2. I save an image onto Desktop 2. I then go to Facebook. I reply to my niece's message there. I go to attach an image and it doesn't see it, somehow it is only looking at Desktop 1. Shouldn't my browser be looking there since I am there? I assume it has something to do with Windows 10 but how do I fix this. The idea being that when I work on a given desktop all works within that desktop. If I open a new Word document on DT2 and save it on dt2 I want it to stay there. I would however like it to be attainable from any desktop once I save it into it's "normal" folder.
In other words anything done (sent, saved, etc) on the desktop stays there and can be worked on from there but outside of that all is attainable anywhere.
