this has just started happening to me on my Windows 8 RTM laptop, with Start 8 V1.11, and I think both Dexpot and Start 8 have recently been updated, so I'm not sure what exactly is causing it.
Essentially, when Dexpot is installed (V1.6.6, Build 2227) all is OK, and I can select 'Taskbar Pager' with no problems from Settings -> Plugins and Extras. The taskbar pager appears and everything works just fine, as it does on Windows 7, and with recent versions of Start 8 / Dexpot.
However, after a reboot, the taskbar pager does not appear, and the checkbox on Settings -> Plugins and Extras for 'Taskbar Pager' can no longer be selected.
The only solution is to uninstall and reinstall Dexpot, after which 'Taskbar Pager' is once again selectable and works correctly.
Any help and/or advice would be gratefully accepted. If you need further information from me, please let me know where/what to look at!

Thanks Patrick - it was running with Administrator privileges, so I removed that, and it's now working correctly again, with the Taskbar Pager present after reboot!
Bizarrely I'm sure I "had to" have Admin privileges in an earlier configuration, since that's what I also use on Windows 7.
