Great update....Facebooks Post???

Postby sgtevmckay » 16.05.2010 21:36:54

Greetings Folks.

I have just updated to the latest build.
The directions are excellent and easy to follow.

May I suggest a Facebook post regarding the latest update and the reason for the directions posted for the updates.

I would have been unaware of the update, had a friend not called and advised me that one was available He needed some assistance  ), as I rarely close or restart my system.....I assisted him through his logoof/on and install, and then did mine.

Apparently what ever you folks did also corrected and additional issue.
In the last update; Some times I had to go to each desktop in order for the Sevendex to see the available VD's....I have restarted several times now, and this is no longer and issue for me or my test group (Friends  ).

Great work once again, and many thanks from me and my friends

Kindest Regards
The Sarge

Do you? You should use the Dexpot updater (see 'Settings/Check for updates').

I have that set.....Interestingly enough the only time it seems to check is when I restart the system, and that is rarely. I have yet to notice if I get an update window while running. I will have to pay closer attention.

Thanks

If that's the case, I would recommend that you add the ability for Dexpot to check for updates more frequently. (If you could automatically interface and check on the same schedule as Windows Updates, that would be even better!). I'm in the same boat as sgtevmckay, where I rarely restart my computer (except for Windows Updates), as I prefer to use sleep. As Dexpot is effectively a "System Application", I think it would be appropriate to check for updates with the rest of the system.

I will take Nicks solution request and one up.

I am a person that believes in options.
Is it possible to create a settings area that address this issue.
Where the End User can define a specified time(s) and Date(s) for Dexpot to check for updates???

Makes sense. I don't think any more options are necessary though. Let's just check once every day or so.

Sounds good, and should keep the traffic resource down to your servers so you do not get some ID10T Operator Error who sets an update every 1 to 5 minutes
