Is there anyway to prevent a window that recently gained focus from moving to the current active desktop? An example of this happening is when you click on a link and it opens in your browser, if the browser was already open it will create a new tab and then give the window focus. If the browser window that got the new tab were on another desktop I would prefer for it to not move to my current desktop. There are a lot of small instances where this happens that ruins the flow of whatever I'm doing.

Let me clarify: the "link" clicked would not have originated from the browser it is opening in. It would come from an instant message client, an email, or any other application.

Settings > Plugins and Extras > Behavior of windows on other desktops.
