Just downloaded the Beta from your site, and love it thus far. Only question is how do you do Application Assignment as you describe in your "Indefatigable Ivy - What's New?"
I do not see the Assign Application dialog anyplace, figure that I am missing something obvious.
Thanks
Tom
Application Assignment
Re: Application Assignment
Ok, I must be blind. Under "Settings" I have "Configure Desktop".
When I right click, the options, in order presented are:
Window Catalog
Full-Screen preview
Settings
Configure Desktops
Desktop Manager
Desktop Preview
Desktop Windows
Desktop Rules
I would let you know the version, but not sure how to find it I do have the MouseEvents and the pointer hot spots, so I assume it is version 1.6, but not sure of the build.

Re: Application Assignment
You must not be running the correct version.
Assign Application is actually between Configure Desktops and Desktop Manager in build 1722.
To see version and build, click "About" below Desktop Rules.

Re: Application Assignment
Have no "About" when I right click on Dexpot icon. Something is amiss. The file that was downloaded was "dexpot_ivy_r1722, so it looks like the build was correct. I had previously run dexpot 1513 r1721, and upgraded from that.
Think a clean install might be in order?

Re: Application Assignment
OK, just did a fresh install, and still the right click menu is not showing "about" or "application assignment". I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, Service Pack 1. The system is a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook with Quad i7 (2630QM) CPU and 8 GB.
This system is new, and am still getting it configured.
To do the fresh install, I remove Dexpot via the control panel utility "Programs and Features", then reinstalled from the previously downloaded (yesterday) 1.6 file.
Any ideas on other things to try?
Thanks

Re: Application Assignment
Sebastian,
Not really sure how to attach a .PNG file. I have the menu captured, but can't figure out how to attach it.
Thanks

Re: Application Assignment
I've enabled attachments for this forum. You should be able to upload the screenshot now.

Try this menu:
The icon looks different with the 1.6 beta.

Re: Application Assignment
Patrick,
Not sure what you mean by "Try this Menu". The one I sent you is what is displayed, unless there is a way to change the menu presented by a right click.

Re: Application Assignment
Check where the menu comes from on my screenshot. You have to right-click the Dexpot icon in the taskbar notification area (aka systray) on the right side of the taskbar, next to the clock.
Re: Application Assignment
Patrick,
The menu from the systray looks like the docs read. Thanks so much. Don't know if it is a bug or not, but when the menu is selected from the taskbar, it is different than the one displayed from the systray.
Thanks so much for you help and patience.

Re: Application Assignment
Hi Tom and Patrick,
I found the solution, i did get to read this post when i had the same issue. The problem lies on install the version 1.5 and 1.6 dexpot, when upgrading 1.5 to 1.6 dexpot the dexpot.exe doesn't get replace, even uninstall and reinstall to 1.6 the exe file of 1.5 will be still exsist. Everytime you start dexpot it will still be version 1.5, the solution is to first remove the dexpot.exe after uninstalling 1.5 in "C:\Program files\Dexpot", you will need to close the application "dexpot.exe" on task manager. Once the the dexpot.exe get deleted just reinstall 1.6 dexpot and you will find the assign application on right click.
Thank you for the great program!
Kevin
