how to drag a window to different desktop?

i am newbie with dexpot. I just tried it first time.
downloaded the new beta version to try on windows 7.
The first thing I tried is Full-screen preview, then I wanted to drag one window from one virtual desktop to another (I have 4 virtual desktops).
This is what I do alot when using Ubuntu and unity.
But each time I move the mouse to drag the window, it does not do that, instead it just brings the virtual desktop back into the main desktop that this window was one. But I wanted to move it!
may be there is a configuration for this? I looked and can't find one (so many options
How does one do this? surely this is supported. This is the whole point of a virtual desktop. If I can't drag a window from one desktop to another, then what is the point of all this? How else would one easily do this?
thank you
Robert

,
you're right, that's the key feature of DexControl.
Can you please make sure that DexControl.exe is running in your task manager and provide a screenshot?

I was reading the forums and this item caught my eye so I read it.
I can verify - Yes - it does work - very nicely in fact. I just tried it and Dexcontrol was already running. Very slick.
And actually I learned something because I didn't even KNOW you could do that. I was using the right-click copy or move to another desktop.
I also see that this thread was started in Feb of 2012 so that was about 3 months ago.
Just tryin to help.

Oh.
I read 02.05.2012 as Feb 5 not May 2.
Whoops.

I'm also having this issue (when I attempt to drag a window the Desktop is selected instead). I checked that Dexcontrol.exe is running and I restarted Dexpot but no luck. I've attached screenshots.

,
looks like you don't have the
Aero theme enabled.
It's mandatory for DexControl.

Desktop 1 and desktop 2 seem to work very well. however when i try to use desktop 3 as soon as i drag a window to the monitor that gets changed the display changes on its own back to Display 1 and my program ends up on the wrong desktop...what is going on here?
I do not use Aero windows but did change to try and it does the same thing. I dont like Aero windows as it slows the machine down

Aero slows down the machine? That's news to me. I'm not sure what you're referring to as with Aero disabled, you won't be able to drag windows within Full-screen preview.

Why is this option availible only with windows aero theme on? I'm using windows 7 starter and I can't have this theme. If I download any feature to activate this I am breaking my windows license.

,
it's a technical requirement and Microsoft's licensing model.
